Weekly Reflection – 34

  • Three Choices I made this week:
    • One: I chose to show up for my kids. Multiple trips to multiple schools this week. Social events that are hard for me. I did it anyway.
    • Two: I chose to cook new foods for the boys and stick to the new way of eating.
    • Three: I chose to keep running even though it’s still really hard.
  • I read/learned: I finished Truth and Beauty(audio) in one day. I am still reading Present over Perfect slowly and savoring it. I listened to the Winner’s  Curse last week and am now listening to book two, The Winner’s Crime. I finally did all the lessons in Kristin and Brene’s Self Compassion course and signed up for Brene and Glennon’s Power of Story class. Looking forward to it.
  • I celebrate:  I celebrate the school year finally starting.
  • I am grateful for:  David surviving his first week with braces and so far loving his new school.
  • I focused on my health by:
    • I’ve been doing a 1mile run, my 10K steps and my 7minute exercise daily.
    • Kids and I are eating a mostly veggie and fruit diet lately. Though I have had some chocolate of course!
    • I’ve strayed a bit more away from the diet this week but I am mostly on board still!
  • I made art:  didn’t do much art this week. Hoping to get back on that wagon soon.
  • I let go of: I let go of  having things figured out. I am going to take it one day at a time and try to survive one thing at a time.
  • Core Desire Check-in:
    • Kind: I’ve been kind to my kids this week. Trying to support their beginnings to school.
    • Strong: I’ve been working out daily, I’m proud of myself because it’s really hard for me and yet I keep doing it.
    • True: I’ve worked hard but been true to my values this week. I’ve been present for my boys.
    • Generous: I’ve been generous with my patience. Taking things as they come.
    • Brave: I’ve been brave this whole week. All these social events, new people, smalltalk are extremely hard for me. And yet I keep showing up anyway.

Here’s to another good week! 🙂
