this week's "friday five" brought to you by heather: 1. What cologne or perfume do you wear? for years, I wore beautiful but in the last year or two, I've changed to paloma picasso and I love it. 2. What cologne or perfume do you like best on the opposite sex? Polo by Ralph Lauren, hands down. let's just say it has magical powers on me. 3. What one smell can you not stomach? I'm quite sensitive when it comes to smells. I don't eat anything that makes my mouth smell, including onions, garlic, and pork. Yuk. The smell that bothers me most is the stench of alcohol that is emitted from the pores of people who drank an exorbitant amount the night before. I also hate the smell of incense. 4. What smell do you like that others might consider weird?I love the smell of celery. Not sure if that's weird or not tho. 5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? I have about seven books to read, a scarf to finish knitting, more wedding preparations, and lots of sleeping so that my congestion can clear before the big trip next week! january 25 | link
a new book excerpt for you: indigo. sorry i haven't been reading as much lately. it's been a busy few weeks.

shannon's got me hooked on "friday five" brought to you by heather.
1. what do you have your browser start page set to? sadly, nothing. i know that as a computer person i should be more savvy and set my page to something cool but i haven't. 2. what are your favorite news sites? hmm, pretty cliche but if i'm trying to find out whether something just happened or not i'll go to cnn and for regular daily news reading, i'll read the new york times. 3. favorite search engine? google rocks, baby. 4. when did you first get online? in august 1992, as part of freshman enrollment in my university we were all given unix accounts and email. 5. how do you plan to spend your weekend? this weekend, i celebrate! my life is still pretty boring i'm afraid. january 18 | link
watching shannon's weekly entries made me want to do my "friday five" brought to you by heather.
1. what was your first job? i didn't get to work until i attended college because in turkey you really can't (long, long story) so my first job was proofreading the school newspaper. 2. how old were you when you had your first kiss? i was 15 and not sure whether my best friend and i should be walking down that dangerous path. we did and made it out on the other end just fine, thankfully. 3. what was your first car? what happened to it? ahem. can't drive. in turkey, one's not allowed to get a license until 18 and i turned 18 after i moved to the us. got a license but can't really drive. but that's all about to change pretty soon. 4. what was your first concert? again, didn't attend one until college. my freshman year i went to a bon jovi concert and a billy joel one. 5. how do you plan to spend your weekend? after yesterday's nineteen-hour work-day, i think i might be sleeping quite a lot this weekend. and reading. and knitting. wow, i think the friday-five is showing me what a boring life i've lead and am continuing to do so. hmm. january 11 | link
