The greatest joy of life comes from the smallest moments

One of the greatest joys of having kids is watching them delight in the smallest moments. Like when Nathaniel found this little toy bucket and sat in it. You thought it was the funniest thing my sweet boy. And when daddy pushed you around you laughed with so much joy (until it was David’s turn of course.) Seeing you two have the best time with the simplest things is a daily reminder to me that I should be grateful for the smallest things in my life, too. There are the moments when we cherish life. Thank you for reminding me what matters most. I am so deeply grateful for the two of you and I love you with all my heart.

Year-Long Classes – One Little Word – June

Since I don’t have a scrapbook page to share today, I thought I’d share my June OLW page. This was super-fun to do with a bunch of painting and stamping and just having fun.

This morning, we went to the park and there was this closed slide where I couldn’t see you slide down. You both loved it but it made me super anxious. What if you got stuck? How would I save you? Your daddy explained that part of being a mom is learning to let you do it and be brave. And that I had to be brave, too. It’s so hard not to protect you all the time. I love you so very much my sons.

Thank you for teaching me the joy of being silly

My sweet boys, I’m not known for being silly. Truth be toldm I am too serious and find silliness, well…silly. But ever since you came into my life I find a lot of joy watching you be silly, especially since you think it’s so funny to be silly. This was your first year at your new school. I will admit I was quite nervous and didn’ know what to expect. Especially when we got a note thay your teacher was sick and you’d have a sub. The first few weeks we had no idea what would happen. As it turned out you got to have this teacher all year and she was the awesomest teacher ever. Thanks to her, we had the very best introduction to your school. Thank you Mrs. Richardson!

There’s something magical about seeing the people you love, love each other

I love the two of you more than anyone can love anyone else. And when you grow up you’ll see that there’s something wonderful about having people you love, love each other and hug each other. I cannot tell you the joy it brings me when I see you two hug and and kiss and show each other affection. I hope hope hope that it continues forever. Make a point to always cheer for yourself

I am so sad to see the beginning of the end of baby teeth

I remember being excited when you lost your first baby tooth. But in the last few weeks, you’ve lost four more and it’s clear now that the last signs of your baby years are almost all gone. I know time passes and part of me can’t wait to see the person you’ll become but another part of me wants to stop time so you can stay my baby forever. I love you so much David.

I really love watching all the joy you get from a hat

Your class went to the fire station and you were too scared to go in the truck but you did get a little hat and it has become your very favorite thing. So much so that it’s duct taped all over now because you will not take it off and it’s falling apart. I love how such a simple toy can bring so much joy. A lesson we can all learn. Thank you, my son for making my life so much better.
