I Hope and Pray Everyday that I did Right by You

This second Pink Paislee project was an inspiration piece, too.

It was inspired by this amazing cake:

White, teal, pink and red might be my favorite color combination of all time.

The journaling Reads:
My sweet boy, as your mom, I make daily decisions that shape your future. What school you get to go to, which friends you can play with, what activities are best, etc. And while I always do my very best to think it through I also worry every day that my decisions are the best ones for you I hope and pray that I am opening and closing the right doors. One thing I know, I am doing my very best to do right by your every step of the way.

you have no idea how relevant that is to me today. My DS is having a bad day as his friends on the street are ‘being mean’, and have told them he cant play with them. I worry that he is too senstive and overreacts to them, I worry that I am not enuring he is included enough, I worry that he wont pick himself up and get back out there and I am not making him strong enough to cope with life’s knocks.
It all feels too much today and I am doubting my parenting abilities.

Then I read your journalling and do you know what, it makes me feel better, dont know quite why – but it does. Thank you

  • I love how heartfelt your journaling is… given the message of this one I will send an early ‘Happy Mothers Day’ hello to someone who seems to be a most wonderful mother!!

  • Bellissima pagina, con un journaling in cui, come madre, mi identifico.

That’s one of the hardest parts about parenting – wondering if OUR choices are what THEY need. Of course there are the basic choices to keep them safe and healthy but the others….I am of the belief that if you expose your child to many different things, they will discover what they like and then carry on with those things. One of the reasons we are often over-scheduled! Parenting sometimes means just doing your best.

Your layout is so amazing. It is exactly what I think about, feel, worry about. Thanks for sharing this layout.

How many times as a mother I have told myself those same words. 2 years ago we decided our local school was not right and although we know it was the right decision, I have asked my self if he thinks so too

It would be so much easier if children came with a parenting manual. But they don’t. Our choices seem wise at the time and then we worry. True inspiration once again.

Karen, this is gorgeous and so is that cake. You did a wonderful job on it and I love the new bright colors you’ve been using. My favorite thing on your layouts is all the different textures and mix of thing you have and they all look so good together.
