I Love How You Told me It’s a Flower

This layout was for Maya Road CHA Summer show. It’s not a favorite of mine. I actually really do not like it but I wanted to be honest and show you that I make many pages I don’t like. Having said that, I love this story and since it’s more about the story than anything else, I am still glad I have it.

Journaling Reads:
You were sitting on the floor and drawing on your magnetic toy when i asked you what you were drawing i don’ know what answer i expected but it certainly wasn’t the one i got. you turned to me and signed flower. and i was floored. “are you drawing a flower, Nathaniel’ 0a asked and you said yes. I couldn’t believe that you understood me and that you were drawing something specific you never cease to amaze me.

Tears of joy. Yes, it is about the story. If I may say, I think what you do not like is the flower strips where there should be something more like a flag banner with maybe a flower or two. I am definitely not qualified to critique your layout, and I do understand the flowers because of the story. I just think the flower strips do not suit your style.

I think it’s pretty actually because of the colors against the white card stock pop out. The flower ribbon gives it a nice touch.

It is all about the story. It’s all about Nathaniel. You don’t like the layout because it is so NOT you! I know I was shocked when I saw the layout. It is, of course, well done just not you.

  • Karen, I chuckled when I read that you made this but didn’t like it, I have made many layouts that I end up not liking myself and I tell myself the same thing as you, it’s about the story and photos and when I watch my kids look through the scrapbooks they LOVE every layout 🙂

  • Again… all the fabric adds extra charm to the page. Great work.
