Daily Diary – August 31 2011

We decided to take today off so we could do one more family day before school starts next week. So we spent the morning doing our typical stuff (reading, art, scrapping, napping, etc.) and then when Nathaniel woke up we went to a mini-golf place on 101. It was super hot and not super conducive to great photos but I took some anyway.

Nathaniel watched at first.

even gave me some smiles.

Daddy played too of course. And he was the best.

before soon, Nathaniel was playing too.

And here’s proof I was there, too.

David did pretty well (except when he cheated. which when we pointed out to him, got him very upset.)

Here’s the only shot of the two of them I got and it’s blurry, of course.

but then Daddy snapped my favorite photo of the day.

and I got one of my big boy.

and one of my little one.

and that was that for golf. We then played for a few minutes in the arcade, used the tickets to get a plastic soldier and some candy. Dinner, laughter and now the kids are in bed and I have a layout to make. Here’s to another lovely day. Hope yours was, too.

Three Things I’m Grateful For:
1. I am grateful for my package of goodies and that I made a layout already.
2. I am grateful for the awesome mini golf day.
3. I am grateful that my jaw is a little better today. Only 2 advils so far.

Three Things David’s Grateful For:
1. I am grateful that we went to play mini golf. * {his pick for the journal}
2. I am grateful that I played with my Nathaniel.
3. I am grateful that I got a toy soldier.

    Hi Karen,
Happy September. I loved the newsletter. This one and last month really spoke to me–I really seem to be stuck when it comes to getting things going, getting to my goals. So yes, I’m going to start today on just one thing. I’m going to take a walk every day, even if it’s just for 15 minutes. I’ll let you know how I do! I think I’m partly just overwhelming myself, because there are so many things and I just sort of freeze up and don’t pursue anything. And you are so right about inertia, I think I’ve let that settle around me far too much!

I’m loving Soul Restoration, but I don’t feel as if I’ve been able to devote the time to it that I need to, so I’m really glad that the content will be available till year end. I plan to go back and spend more time with it. I’m doing the “Mother Load” class with Lain right now, today starts the LOAD part. It was not necessarily a good choice to do that and Soul Restoration at the same time! I may take the 3-month class on photography October-December, but that’s partly because my daughter talked about taking it at the same time too, so we could kind of do it together. I think that would be great fun. Otherwise, I want to focus on the Soul Restoration material…

I hope you have a wonderful September, and that the boys settle in easily to the new routine.

    Take care,

    Pat
