Journey into Collage – Week 26

Page twenty-six:

I am still a little gaga over the washi tape so I just wanted to have fun with it. I covered my background with Pink Paislee tissue tape. Added some washi tape on the edges and some stitching rubons for borders.

The quote says: You are writing the story of your life right now. If you don’t like it, change it.

Journey into Collage – Week 25

Page twenty-three:

I had this great idea for this week but it just didn’t work. Alas, I am going with it. I covered the background with trim. Added some Maya Road frames and some hearts and letters.

The quote says: Every moment counts.

Journey into Collage – Week 24

Page twenty-four:

This was washi-tape and birthday inspired. Just had fun with it.

The quote says: Do not wait for a special day. Celebrate right now, today and every single day.

Journey into Collage – Week 23

Page twenty-three:

I covered my background with tissue paper from 7 gypsies. Added some circles. Some of the grungeboard from Tim with gold paint and this page was done.

The quote says: Give your dreams flight. Choose, choose, choose to soar.

Journey into Collage – Week 22

As promised, here’s the page I did with the Stars and Circles template from yesterday’s hop:

To create these circles, I just got some text paper and cut them into circles:

and then painted the template on them using two different sets of colors. I used red and orange and green and blue:

Once it was painted, I just rubbed some more paint along the edges and adhered them onto my page.

I painted the background and stamped the words after adhering. I then used three other stencils: poppies, clouds, and butterfly meadow to create the black parts. And finally added the white with reverse chickenwire.

The words say: The world needs more color. So create more and more art. Fill it up with joy.

Journey into Collage – Week 21

Page twenty-one:

This week I felt like I had no ideas at all. I wanted to play with oil pastels so I made my background and then just randomly put stuff until I was done.

The quote says: Stop trying to measure up, you’re perfect just the way you are.

Journey into Collage – Week 20

Page twenty:

I wanted to play with some of my Maya Road stamps so I just pulled them out along with other Maya Road goodies and I just had fun. I like how I am not afraid to be messy with this project!

Journey into Collage – Week 19

Page nineteen:

With this page, I just had fun. I did the circle on the left and I knew I wanted to use the rubon with the girl (it’s from Jenni Bowlin) and the rest, I just did whatever I felt like doing. The title says: “Sweet girl, hold on tight to your dreams. never let go.

Journey into Collage – Week 18

Page eighteen:

I used leftovers from a large colorful sheet I’d used for many art journal projects. I just liked the way it looked oddly shaped. IT says “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” which is an Eleanor Roosevelt quote, I think. It also says “do not EVER consent.” I painted the page yellow afterwards. I like how bright it is.

Journey into Collage – Week 17

Page seventeen:

Ok, I’ll admit. This page is super-weird. I don’t even know how to explain it. It uses the gelatos and a LOT of rubons. It’s meant to look like a person is opening up with their arms to the sky. The line says “Stand up and let your soul and heart be seen.”

Journey into Collage – Week 16

Page sixteen:

I sat to do this page the minute I got the CHA My Mind’s Eye goodies. I covered the background with brown tissue paper and I just sat and worked without thinking. I love how it turned out. It has my favorite line from a Jewel song: “You already are what you hope to be.”

Journey into Collage – Week 15

Page fifteen:

I know this page is super-super simple. But I just like it. I stared at it a lot and even let it sit and I still didn’t want to add to it. Maybe the emptiness gives me a feeling of peace. Not sure. Not very collage-y either, I know. But alas, this is what we have this week.
