My sweet boy, even though you can’t tell from the pictures, we celebrated your birthday in the little common area outside our house with all the neighbors and their kids. Ths was the second year we did it and it was so much fun to see all the kids more grown up than last year. I hope we can continue some form of this tradition every year. I love you o much my son. HAppy happy second birthday.

My sweet boys, i know summer can be a lot of work for a work at home mommy like me and i am trying o make sure you have a lot to do so that I can work without interruption as much as possible. But I am also looking forward to summer so much because it means David will be home everyday and I can watch the two of you play together. That is my very favorite thing to do lately. It makes me feel so very grateful and deeply happy.

In the beginning of 2011 I decided we would take full family photos weekly. I know that even if they were posed and in the same spot, I would love having them What i didn’t know then was how we would invent tickle time at the end of each session and how i would cherish those photos even more!

There are so many things I love about you David. You’re so kind and giving and generous and you’re funny and sweet. You always listen to me and do what I ask without complaining, You take walks with me and give me hugs and curl up with me. But What i love the most is how happy you are. How you don’t have my sad demeanor. and how you can lift me up with just one smile and you smile a lot! I love you David.

My little boy, you are now at an age where you are able to communicate and tell us what you want and now that you know we can understand if you don’t get exactly what you want you want, you put on this face of pure sadness and devastation. your hands cover your moth in shock and if you can you throw yourself to the ground. it doesn’t really work but we both smile at how cute you are sometimes we can’t help but give in.

I decided at the end of last year that we needed more photos of all four of us together so now we take family photos each weekend. Not only are these some of my favorite shots but they are also some of our most fun moments together. Hooray for awesome new projects.

One of the only regrets I have about living far away is that I am away from you, Yona. I know we had a tumultous childhood but we’ve grown into sisters who love each other so much and I am really sad we’re so away from each other. Even though I was really scared o leave the kids, I am so glad I took the plane to come see you while toy were in NYC. It will be one of my favorite memories of the two of us forever.

My sweet angel, I loe that you’re such a happy boy and laugh so often. I hope that you will continue to do that for the rest of your life because if you look at life with joy and laughter, you often get so much more out of it and you will have such a good life all because of your outlook. I love you.
