Yet Another Perk of Working At Home

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s April Gallery. The theme is to scrap “I grateful for …”.

Journaling Reads:
There are many great things about being able to work at home. One of them is that I can take a fifteen minute break and set up a table full of stamps for you two to play with and then I can sit next to you and do my work while you create and play and giggle and if you need help i am right here. I am so grateful to get to work from home so I can see both of you growing up.

The Music of Your Laughter Brings so much Joy Into My Life

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s February Gallery. The theme is to scrap “music”.

Journaling Reads:
My sweet boys, even though having two boys around means a lot of noise that drives me crazy, it also means a lot of laughter and giggling, and there’s nothing I love to hear as much as the two of you giggling and making up games together and giggling some more. Especially when the games end up in hugs and kisses. I feel so blessed to get to hear all this laughter all day long. I love you.

David Today You Made Me Cry

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s January Gallery. The theme is to scrap “today…”.

Journaling Reads:
Today i went out to the movies with my friend. When i came home there were two notes on my bed. “I love you very much. I really missed you and I had a bad night and I peed like you told me to.” they said. They immediately made me cry. When I was a little girl, I left notes for my mother when she went out so it was so wonderful to see you do it for me. It made my heart swell and I wanted to wake you up and give you a huge hug. I love you so much.

The Best Decision Ever

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s November Gallery. The theme is to scrap “I Remember When…”.

I just love these photos so much I had to scrap them!

Journaling Reads:
I remember the day your dad and I finally decided to have another baby. We were both working hard and unsure it was the best time but we knew David would like a brother and that we didn’t have too much time left to put it off. As I look at these photos of the two of you playing together, laughing and crying I am reminded again that it was the best decision we ever made.

my sweet boys, i want you to know that the best part of life is getting to make your own path. you do not need to ever walk in anyone else’s shadow or aspire to be just like anyone else. Nothing Gold Can Stay

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s July Gallery. The theme is to scrap with no photos.

Journaling Reads:
when I was a little girl i thought this poem was so sad. As a teenager i copied it from diary to diary. always feeling a pull to it. But i always thought it was depressing that good things didn’t last and that the beauty of life is so very ephemeral. but now that i am much much older I feel so differently. This is a reminder that everything is ephemeral so I try to enjoy each and every moment.

Poem Reads:
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

My Favorite Moments from the Wedding

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s June Gallery. The theme is to scrap Weddings.

Journaling Reads:
twins. right before the ceremony started Aksel was supposed to put petals all over the ground. Instead he turned over his whole bucket and dumped them.
chuppah. I loved that our chuppah was carried by family and they got to surround us the entire time. Holding our home over us. Protecting.
weather. It was an amazing Boston day and to have it in Jake’s home with such a stunning garden…it could not have been more special than this.
ceremony. i am not religious but i wanted a traditional ceremony. we got the best mixture of tradition and poetry. Quiet, personal, and magical.
danny. I will never forget hearing danny’s sniffs throughout our whole ceremony. He was so emotional and I love him so very much.
Quiet. We took a moment of quiet just for us right after the ceremony and it was so nice to look at the house full of our loved ones and take a pause.
Speech. My dad gave one of the best speeches I ever heard. Funny, kind, and insightful. He’s an amazing person and I will never forget the speech.
Cake. Our wedding was mostly quiet and not over the top, This cake was the only splurge I wanted and I loved the way it looked and tasted.
Friends. We kept our wedding small. Only our closest friends and I am so glad those special people were there to witness and celebrate with us.
forever. The very best part of our wedding was by far the marriage. Getting to spend forever with the man I love, my best friend, is the greatest gift ever.

Choo Choo Love

Another month means another gallery at Write.Click.Scrapbook. This month is all about being inspired by a post/project from this year. I am still in love with these colorful cupcakes from Celeste’s post so I used them as my color inspiration.

This was designed with the beautiful Lime Twist line from My Mind’s Eye.

Journaling Reads:
You are very much obsessed with Thomas right now and read all the books you find. I love watching you and hearing you say choo choo all day.

One Day

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s May Gallery. The theme is to scrap a day in the life.

Journaling Reads:
7. After breakfast at 6am, we take David to the bus so he can go to school. 8. Then it’s time for me to exercise. Treadmill and nike+ for 2.8 miles. 9. After the morning exercise I take my peace time which is also breakfast. Coffee with graham crackers (but no chocolate.) If I am lucky I can also get in some quiet journaling time. 10. While I do all this Nathaniel plays quietly and reads books. Then it’s time for work. Lately it’s all about dev releases. 12. If it’s a weekend, we take this time to do a family shot. I love these. 3. David is ready to pick up at 2:45 so when we come home we read books together. 4. Then he works on his workbooks. Most days it’s reading, writing, or math. He really likes doing them. 5. Then it’s time to write the gratitude journal. One sentence. 5. If it’s Sunday, we have family night, if not it’s playtime. 6. The kids go to bed at six so I process the daily photos. 8. And finally it’s time for some art. I get a few quiet hours and then it’s time for bed around 10pm. I love my simple life.

Perfection is so Overrated Especially when Compared to Having so much Fun

Yes, super-long title this time. I like having fun with my titles.

This layout is for Write.Click.Scrapbook’s April Gallery. The theme is to scrap those not-so-perfect photos. I couldn’t find photos less perfect than these if I tried. Photo booths fascinate me and I love them. I love all these photos so much. So I am really glad I had an excuse to scrap them.

Journaling Reads:
I have long been a fan of photo booths, I cannot pass one without taking photos. I am not sure what it is that I love so much about them. Maybe it’s just that the photos are so very imperfect that you just let go and truly enjoy yourself. Make silly faces and just have fun.
