Nathaniel Reads to Mommy is a project for 2014 that I am doing with my 4.5-year-old son. You can read more about it here. Day Eighteen has two stories. The one on the left is about seeing Mockingjay PartI and then on the right is about a poem David wrote for me. and here’s the page after all the photos and words: this is the left side: and the right side: and a tilted look to see all the shimmer: yey. onward. Day seventeen is all about Hannukah lights. and here’s the page after all the photos and words: this is the left side: and the right side: and a tilted look to see all the shimmer: yey. onward.
I read The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared because my friend Cole recommended it. I actually listened to this one, too. On Audible on my phone. Only while I drove the kids to and fro. And such, it took quite a while to finish it, but it was so worth it. This book is clever, funny, and quirky. If you’re into different books that are quirky, I highly recommend this one. This is one of the Week in the Life pages I made that will be going into my Savor album for 2014: this one is all about my day at work. Savor Project is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. Day Sixteen is about the day we spent at the zoo on Sunday. Even though we did it on Sunday, I wanted to make sure to tell the story. I look at this as the story of our December so I am not super-particular about what’s preserved on what day. and here’s the page after all the photos and words: this is the left side: and the right side: David lost his tooth right when we were at the park, so I decided to save that, too! and a tilted look to see all the shimmer: yey. onward. The One Little Word assignment for September was creating a short manifesto and writing the real story on how I am doing with my word. My manifesto was: Yes, I Can. It’s never failed to give me strength. And I journaled about how I always keep trying. I believe in the power of trying. Remember This is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. Today’s page had a drawing of Santa’s present bag so I decided to write about our presents. I had just spent a bunch of time wrapping them all so I thought it was a good fit. It’s one of those story-heavy entries. A reminder of what I like to shop for, how this year’s holiday shopping went, etc. I also attached a snippet of the wrapping paper I used for each of us for this year.: and here’s the page after all the photos and words: this is the left side: and the right side: and a tilted look to see the shimmer: it’s getting awfully close to Christmas. Day fourteen was all about the Google Geo Christmas Party. This year’s party was at the Computer History Museum and they had some cartoonists, some fun graffiti photo thingie, ice skating and a photobooth so I wanted to capture all of that. They also had a robot on the dance floor that both Jake and I posed with. and here’s the page after all the photos and words: this is the left side: and the right side: left side has a pocket full of all the other things from the party. Our cartoon drawing, photos, and it also has another strip and a few more things. and a tilted look to see all the shimmer: yey. onward. This week is all about connecting with people and allowing myself to go deeper into the community. I often tend to do become more of a hermit in the holiday season. This will allow me to reach out more and go deeper with my friends. It will also allow me to connect my thoughts and others’ words more deeply, see patterns, look for what’s unsaid. and more. Here’s the pin where I got the lettering.. Listen with Intent is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. Day thirteen has two stories, on the left it’s about how Nathaniel’s teacher tweets during the week and happened to tweet about Nathaniel and then on the right side, I wrote about the boys doing their algebra books while I worked. (I just noticed the photo on the left says “remember to” it actually says “remember to laugh” but the sticker fell off. I went and dug out another one to glue on there.) the before shot: and here’s the page after all the photos and words: this is the left side: and the right side: and a tilted look to see all the shimmer: onward. |
