This week I have halloween: I love all of these photos so much. See you next week! The Savor Project is a weekly project for 2013. You can see a detailed post on my goal and other details here. For day four, I wanted to capture the Advent calendars. I like the idea of having something small to look forward to each day in December. This is how I feel about my December Daily so I like capturing the boys’ calendars and little lego adventures. David decided to do some sketching in the morning, too so I asked him if I could have his paper when he’s done. and I made sure he signed and dated it. I love having these pieces of their life right now in my book year after year. there we go. That’s day four. See you tomorrow. For day three, we’re all about media. Since December started right after Thanksgiving break this year, we had a bunch of downtime right away. We spent that time watching movies and reading (and other activities too but I wanted to make sure to note them as this is one of the things I like looking back on, over the years.) We started our weekend by seeing Frozen. we then took photos at the booth nearby and I added that: on the back, I added photos for some of the books I’ve been reading: and this is the actual page I’d done before. I added the posters for 3 other movies we saw (some was just Jake and me) and did a bit of journaling. there we go. That’s day three. See you tomorrow.
Before I go to Sleep is another one from the Amazon Book of the Month list. I read this whole book in one sitting. It was weird, interesting, obvious, captivating all at once. The premise was very interesting and I was confident the author could have done so much more with the plot. And yet, I felt like it was relatively melodramatic and predictable towards the end. But, if you’re into mysteries and psychological ones at that, you will possibly like this one. For day two, I decided to journal about putting up our Christmas Tree. No matter how I tried, the photo didn’t come out nice so there we go. I liked journaling right on the page and not overthinking it. I then added a little photo of the butterfly ornaments I bought this year that I love. (And you can see a sneak of the next page which I already started.) there we go. That’s day two. See you tomorrow. Here’s this week’s gratitudes and celebrations: Before : it says: make today ridiculously amazing. and here’s what the page looks like with all the gratitudes and celebrations: Just another excuse to create art and remember the present that is my life. Gratitude Journal is a weekly project for 2013. You can see a detailed post on my goal other details here.Gratitude Journal – Week 39 This is my seventh year doing a December Daily album. Over that time, I’ve developed some traditions for the album. For example, I finish each year with my OLW for the next year and I often put a photo of tulips on my last page. Another tradition I have is for the first page. A few years ago, I begun my album with “and so it begins” and I decided that I liked it so much that it would be how I start each year. Some years I also add photos of us and some years I don’t. This year, I did not. I’ve been a huge fan of gold lately and I am happy to see that it’s popular, though it doesn’t photograph so well. This page has the beautiful gold deer: and here’s one more look so you can see the dimensional wood, too. there we go. That’s day one. See you tomorrow. I know I am a bit late with this but I actually prepared my December Daily pre-pages months ago as they were a part of the Gossamer Blue December Memories class. I was lucky enough to receive the stunning kit and put my little book together like this: And there we go. Tomorrow I’ll post the first page. Here are some photos from this week: Early this week, we got to see a bird show. The birds rode bikes and skates and pushed shopping carts, it was super fun! then Nathaniel decided he needed a crown. sometimes he gets very specific and purposeful. He knows exactly what he wants and just gets it done. That’s what he did with this crown. on Thanksgiving Day, we decided to put up our tree before our meal. the boys really helped out this time. it was so much fun doing it together. they did a great job balancing the tree. they each had their own buckets and they didn’t get bored one time. They just kept at it until we were done. and here it is. not a fan of that lens but alas. then the boys went to play football out front. some good teaching moments. and then it was time for dinner. not the best photo but still…. my crazy boys. nathaniel wasn’t up for smiling this week. he wouldn’t even join in on the “we love” statements. until we picked his, of course. and then it was tickle time! and here we go. so grateful for my life. i hope your week was lovely, too. Happy Thanksgiving! Weekly Diary is a project for 2013. You can read more about it here. Before this week’s art here’s the important reminder: Please remember, this is personal and hand-made and thus imperfect. If you want perfect art, do not buy mine. Also one more reminder that these are pretty small. 5.5inches by 5.5inches. That’s about 14×14 centimeters). You will just get the original piece of watercolor paper with my art and signature in the back. No mounting, no frame. I don’t want to misrepresent anything. I will put a paypal button under each (you can pay with credit card or paypal.) the button doesn’t update so you will have to click through to see if it’s sold out. I will try to update them as quickly as I can and remove the button if it’s gone, but just in case. Each piece will be $35. That’s US dollars. If you have questions please leave a comment and I will reply as fast as I can. This is the very last of the six by sixes for 2013. Thank you for supporting my art 🙂 With that here’s this week’s art: it reads: it is ok to take a break. SixBySix is a weekly project for 2013. I decided to take a bunch of books recommended by Amazon and read them. They have a Book of the Month list each month, and I just picked a bunch. The Dinner was one of those. The Dinner was quite an interesting read. I can’t say it was fun or uplifting. But it was interesting. The plot twisted and turned a bunch and the narrators were unreliable at best, unlikeable to boot. But I still thought it was a worthwhile read. Not sure why. Especially since I don’t think I liked it. But there we are. Sometimes it’s like that. |
