Charged

To be fair to entries like this and this, I think it’s worth pointing out that today was a very good day. Nothing particular happened. I went to work and the day was mostly smooth, quite productive, and yet free of too much stress. Things went right, for the most part.

On the way home, our 72-degree weather and cloudless skies added to my mood and I decided to take a stroll instead of going home. It’s days like this that make me glad we moved to San Diego. Days like this that make up for the other days. Days like this that remind you what a wonderful place the world is and how many great things I have going for me in life. It’s not that I don’t know them at the back of my mind all the time. It’s just that sometimes I really feel it.

And those days are really special so I wanted to make sure to have a record of one.

Hi Karen…. I really *really* liked your homepage a lot. The first thing I noticed was the owls picture. I find owls to be fascinating. I once saw an injured owl in a road0side shop. At first I thought it was just a picture, it looked so 2-d! The shop keeper said that some kids were pelting stones at it, so it got injured! I took it to the vet. the doctor said it was a ‘common barn owl’ which made me very sad, because it didnt seem fair to call it ‘common’. It had the prettiest face ever, white with golden specs, just like in your picture. When I would rub the back of its head, it would close its eyes. Unfortunately this little owl didnt survive because its leg was badly torn. I really miss it a lot. I must tell you this was the first time I came face to face with a real-owl. It was just soo pretty *sigh* Your name ‘Karenika’ sounds kind of Indian btw. I like the pictures you’ve taken….. btw i reached here through google, whilst I was searching for what people thought those meerkats represented in ‘the life of pi’ its been nagging me.

  • beautiful creature — great capture!
