This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. I love this sketch, isn’t it so cute? I used stem stitch and back stitch on this one. The little word is joy. This one made me think of Calvin and Hobbes for some reason.

This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. I really like their sketches. Lovely ideas. I used satin stitch and back stitch on this one and fill stitch in her eyes. The little word is grace. I wonder if your eyebrows would really be the same color if you’re that blonde?

This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. Something simple this week. Just backstitch and satin stitch. The word says “warm.” Nothing super special but, still, I like it.

This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. I love this sketch. I used satin stitch and back stitch on this one. The little word is bold. I also tried to attach this one to the back in a different way to see if I liked it better. I haven’t decided. What do you think? Do you like the little bit of gold showing or did you prefer the blanket stitch way?

This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. I decided to try one more non-white background but this one was super super painful. Halfway through, I spilled some tea which melted the dissolving water so I had to wing it for the rest of the way. By the time I was done, I was so so done with this butterfly. And I didn’t even like how it turned out. Meh. I used just back stitch on this one. The little word is fly.

This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. This week, I wanted to try not using white muslin so I picked up this brown felt and I used these printable dissolving sticky fabrics to print my image and then stuck it on the felt and started stitching:
when I was done, i cut off all the non-stitched sections.
and then put it in a bowl of water:
and here we go:
like magic. however, it wasn’t fun to stitch through it and i didn’t end up liking the darker fabric. (just like in my art journaling, apparently i like white backgrounds everywhere.)
I used satin stitch, french knots, star stitch, chain stitch and back stitch on this one. The little word is hope.
