Good writing, great characters. Nice way to have interconnected little short stories. I even loved reading about food (which I usually don’t care for.) If you haven’t picked this one up, I’d recommend it. Here’s piece nineteen: summer means watermelons! Watercolor Food is a Monthly Project for June 2016. Hello! I am writing this from my hotel room in Sydney, Australia. Whoa! Australia! I’ve been here for four days now and I still can’t believe I’m in Australia! I can’t even write it without exclamation points! When I originally booked my tickets for Sydney, I was supposed to be here with a work friend and figured she would encourage me to go out over the weekend since my inclination is always to stay home. As it worked out, her visa never came through so she had to cancel her trip. After my moment of panic passed, I promised myself that I would spend all of my weekend going around to ensure I made the very best of being here. I am delighted to say, I’ve held my promise! In the last 48 hours (it’s Sunday night here in Sydney as I write this) I have visited:
I also took the Ferry to the Zoo and the Bus from Bondi back to Darling Harbour.
Isn’t that awesome!? I feel like I’ve seen so much of Sydney and I feel like I definitely held my promise to myself. It was so worth it!
Here’s to a wonderful week!
Here’s piece sixteen: I know it’s simple but i like this banana. Watercolor Food is a Monthly Project for June 2016. You can read more about my projects for 2016 here. Here’s piece two: strawberries and ice cream 🙂 Watercolor Food is a Monthly Project for June 2016. You can read more about my projects for 2016 here. I read Fallen because it had been on my YA to-read list for a long long time. Man, was that a mistake. This book dragged for days for me. And that’s a sign of a terrible book. The writing, the characters, the plot. None of it spoke to me. Maybe it was my mood when I read it. Maybe I’ve already read similar books. Not sure why I didn’t like it. But I didn’t. Here’s piece fourteen: fun with eggplant. Watercolor Food is a Monthly Project for June 2016. You can read more about my projects for 2016 here. |
