I read a bunch of books this week but most of them were short. I started my week with The Reason You’re Alive which was wonderful. Matthew Quick is so good at creating memorable characters. Then I read Words in Deep Blue and When Dimple Met Rishi, two very different YA novels but both about love. I enjoyed both of them. I skipped a bunch of my queue and jumped to Watch Me Disappear hoping it would be a fast-paced novel and it was. I swallowed it up and it was okay in the end. I then read A Beautiful, Terrible Thing knowing it was going to be sad and it was but it was also a bit annoying. I’d started Normal a while back but never got into it. I finally finished it this week but I will say that I still didn’t fully get into it. I ended it with Who is Rich which was better than I thought though I wouldn’t say I loved it. Here’s to more books next week! Books I Read this Week 2017 is a year-long project for 2017. You can read more about my projects for 2017 here.

So grateful for my progress, still and hoping it sticks. Nourish Me Week 2017 is a year-long project for 2017. You can read more about my projects for 2017 here. For August, I decided to do something fun and easy. I have an art insert for my Traveler’s Journal so I challenged myself to do art for 10-15 minutes and then I journaled all over the page. Not all of them turned out lovely but I loved the challenge and the encouragement to do art even with just a little bit of time.

Weekly Intention: This week’s intention is still to just to do more of what I’ve been doing. Get up early. Exercise. Show up. Do it. Eat well. Work hard. Finish things. Catch up on email. Just keep doing what I started. Show up! and do what I need to do to feel a bit more caught up and in control. Things I want to get Done: Here’s the list for his week.
This month’s intention is: July: Shine Boldly: This builds on June a bit but it’s time to take things up a notch. Be bold. Be brave. Be loud. Shine with all your might. Since it’s almost august, I’ll also do August: August: Shine from the Inside Out: Ok you did the outside in and now it’s time to reflect again. The year is half over. How are you doing? What are you keeping on the inside? Also, it’s time to let others see the real you. Don’t be afraid. Shine. Good reminder to journal and to show up. Ways to Shine this week:
I am looking forward to: finishing some of the todos at work that i’ve been carrying for too long. This week’s challenges: making sure the kids’ camp schedule doesn’t interfere with exercise. Top Goals:
I will focus on my core desires (bold, mindful, nourish, love) by: making one good decision at a time! This week, I will say yes to: having faith in myself. This week, I will say no to: giving up. I am worried that: i won’t exercise. i’ll stop eating well. i will continue to be behind at work. that all the effort i am putting in won’t matter. that david will hate his camp. that i will give up. that i will never catch up. that i won’t journal. This week, I want to remember: that i can do this.
How I shone this week: I have been driving to work and back every single day to exercise. I am so grateful for all the support that makes this possible. I am showing up at work. At home. For Jake. And for me. So much for me. Things I wanted to get Done:
I celebrate: still here, still doing this! I am grateful for: jake again and again. i couldn’t do this without him. and Ali for inspiring me. I nourished myself by: a lot of good food this week. Reflecting on my worries: i exercised, i are well. i am catching up. effort i put in will or will not matter, i can’t tell. kids seem to be doing okay. I let go of: being perfect. never going to happen. Core Desire Check-in (bold, mindful, nourish, love):
What made me laugh this week: My boys. What I tolerated this week: all the muscle ache. My mood this week was: grateful. Here’s to a lovely week 31. Here’s to keeping things going!
I started my week with Sycamore which is sort of a mystery but really so much more. I really enjoyed this story. Then I read What We Lose which was a quick read but also tough. I have mixed feelings about this story. I was looking forward to reading We Are Okay which had been on hold for a long time and I loved loved this cover so much so I hoped the book wouldn’t disappoint. And it did not. I really enjoyed this, too. I’d waited a long time to read All Grown Up too. I got lucky and found a copy at the library and read the entire book in one single sitting (as i took a bath even!) It was very good. (even if i disliked parts and characters.) And finally it was time for some Pema Chodron again, so I grabbed Don’t Bite the Hook in my Overdrive queue and let myself bask in some of her wisdom and kindness again. Love her. I finally enjoyed Hello, Sunshine which I knew would be a simple and easy read. It was and it was still enjoyable. Lovely week with fun books!
