Today I Know – Week 16

This week’s inspiration comes from this pin. I love how bright it is.

I drew this page and then colored it using Montana paint markers. I then used some watercolor pencils too. And finally the Stabilo All black pencil which is quickly becoming my favorite.

Today I Know – Week 15

This week’s inspiration comes from this pin. I have no idea why I thought I could tackle this amazing piece of art.

I drew this page and then colored it using Montana paint markers. For the first time, I didn’t draw with pencils first, I just drew right with the marker and hoped for the best. I then added a bit more layers with watercolor pencils. For the background, I originally did purple and hated it so very much that I decided to gesso and paint over it. I don’t like how matte the paint is but i still like it better than the purple.

prompt says: today i know that i am not willing to give up

I wrote about working at home and about taking time to myself.

Today I Know – Week 14

This week’s inspiration also comes from this pin. I started drawing this while I was on the plane and so it’s a bit wobbly but so be it.

I drew this page and then colored it using Faber Castell qrt pencils and some watercolor pencils and peerless watercolors. Then I went over it with my pitt pen to make it darker. I colored the background with watercolor pencils.

I wrote about how i am hungry for knowing what i makes me come alive.

This week’s inspiration also comes from the Craft-A-Doodle book. Again from the artist Pamela Keravuori whose projects are amazing.

I drew this page and then colored it using Faber Castell qrt pencils and some peerless watercolors. Then I used some other water color pencils and I used some pastels. Some neocolor 2s as well. Then Stabilo All to trace it all once more. I colored the background with the gelatos.

Today I Know – Week 11

This week was all about wings. I randomly googled wings and picked the first one I liked. I then drew and painted the inside with white paint. And then I used my peerless watercolors and some watercolor pencils to add some color inside the wings. And then I used the Stabilo All to outline each feather. And there we are.

Today I Know – Week 10

This week was one of those where I just didn’t feel inspired by anything and after spinning and spinning, I settled on an oldie but goodie by Abigail Halpin who is just amazing. I drew my little girl, colored it with some crayons and pencils and called it done.

Some weeks are just like that.

Today I Know – Week 7

This is based on the amazing, amazing sketch by Jen Olson here. I used color pencils to color her.

The journaling says “today i know how it feels to feel so relieved after” and I wrote about how I stress when I have a bunch of things in a row that need to all work out and how I stress and stress until it’s all finished.

Today I Know – Week 6

This page didn’t turn out how i wished but I still like it. It was inspired by this lovely piece of art. I still need to work on my doodling and making smooth lines. It just doesn’t come naturally to me. When I watch others do it with so much east, I am always awed.

I think I used the neocolors on this page too. watersoluble crayons and then some gelatos and pencils on the background.

the prompt says: today i know what it feels like to envy

I wrote a lot about how grateful I feel and putting everything in perspective.

Today I Know – Week 5

When I decided I was going to do this project, I went through my site and printed a bunch of photos that I’d taken over the years that I liked. I figured I would use them over the year. This page was my first attempt. It was trickier than I’d anticipated to come up with a way to combine the art and the photo but I do like the idea of this one even though the execution isn’t all that excellent.

I used the Neocolor ii watersoluble crayons to make the flower on this page.

The prompt says: today i know that i am very good at…

And I wrote about how if I decide to do something, I do it.
