July was another two-pager. The assignment was to pick three things: One self care item, one thing to celebrate, and one thing to give. I chose to celebrate doing 10K steps each day and to eat salads each day for lunch as my self-care. For giving, I decided to use the two big trips we took to see family. Here’s the front:

And for my final month, I decided to pick Listen Deeply. December is a reflective month for me. I like to slow down and go deeper. I like to read, think about, and journal on self-growth. My wishes, hopes, plans, goals, growth for the next year. It’s a great time for me to go deeper. Here’s the pin where I got the lettering.. Listen with Intent is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here.
I read, Beautiful Ruins because I’d kept reading about it and was somehow never in the mood to actually read it. I finally picked it up and decided to make my way through it. And i did. I finished the whole book. Did I like it? Not sure. I didn’t hate it but I am not sure it was awesome. If you’ve read it, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Continuing with the One Little Word 2014 assignments. This one is a two page spread. On the left is a large shot of me and the journaling is about one thing I’d like to improve this month.
The right side is a series of photos from the first half of the year. Photos that make me happy.
Love seeing these even now. Remember This is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here.
For my last intention in November I decided to pick donate. Donating my time, my support, my attention to those I love. Listening more openly, listening for an opportunity that might need me to donate more of myself to the conversation. It seems weird when I write it down but to me, this intention makes perfect sense 🙂 Here’s the pin where I got the lettering.. Listen with Intent is a project for 2014. Nathaniel Reads to Mommy is a project for 2014 that I am doing with my 4.5-year-old son. You can read more about it here.
I found two little incomplete circles in my desk this week. Here’s the last one of them. Stitching Circles is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here.
I read, The Invention of Wings because I’ve read Sue Monk Kidd before and I’ve loved it. I had heard this book was good but I knew practically nothing about the plot until I started listening to it. It was such a lovely, such a heart wrenching, such an interesting story that I am really glad I read it. As someone who didn’t grow up here, I don’t know enough about abolition, let alone about women’s role in it. This was a really interesting read for me. Recommended if historical novels are interesting to you. |
