Everyday Magic – 21

Weekly Intention: soooo… this plan that i had…: My intention this week is to make a prioritized list for the next two weeks. Five things I want to move forward in a major way at work and five things for me or home. Let’s make a list, let’s get it done. That’s the plan. Get out of the slump. I still did not do any of it. I did not make a plan, I didn’t get it done, and I did not get out of the slump. So resetting it didn’t work either. So I am going to try to give it one more week and also to set the intention to slow down and be really present this week. Let’s see if that works.

This month’s intention is: Quiet Magic: Time to rest a little bit before things get crazy again. By the end of this month, you have graduations, parties, transitions, culminations etc. Use the time to add some quiet to the days and really connect with the magic in your life again. This week I will try to meditate daily.

One way I will show up this week:  Just present, open and listening this week and slowing down.

One magic I will make this week: i plan to work from home again one day and i will possibly see a work friend (actually two!) so that will be great if it sticks.

This week, I will pay attention to: what’s still weighing me down and see if i can actually offload a bit.

This week, I will be kinder to: my kids. super kind.

This week, I will focus on pleasing: my intention maybe? i feel like it would really help if i could do it

One new thing I will learn this week: maybe a little about organizational development

I am looking forward to: there’s a bit of magic every day this week but mostly sunday/monday when Jake is back here again!

This week’s challenges: No one day looks super challenging this week, hopefully.

Top Goals:

  • Work: ok so here i think i just really need to step out of the “last minute ” mode and be more thoughtful so goal one is to make lists and prioritize them, goal 2 is to start implementing a bit.
  • Personal: daily drawing, journal, and yoga, sleep.
  • Family:  figure out summer #2, book final camps. rest. spend time with my family.

I will focus on my values:

  • Love: love for my life how it is now.
  • Learn: learn how to move in my role better.
  • Peace: peace with how i feel.
  • Service: to doing the bits of things that need getting done as summer approaches (and school ends, and summit is coming, and vacation is also coming, and a class in between the two.)
  • Gratitude: for my life.

This week, I want to remember: it’s all going to be ok. i can rest.

Everyday Magic – 20

Weekly Intention: So this was last week’s intention: My intention this week is to make a prioritized list for the next two weeks. Five things I want to move forward in a major way at work and five things for me or home. Let’s make a list, let’s get it done. That’s the plan. Get out of the slump. I did not do any of it. I did not make a plan, I didn’t get it done, and I did not get out of the slump. In fact, I think it’s fair to say I am deeper in the slump. Soooo… not sure what that means for setting intentions this week. Maybe I should just go with what I had set for last week or maybe I should set nothing since I am failing so miserably.

This month’s intention is: Quiet Magic: Time to rest a little bit before things get crazy again. By the end of this month, you have graduations, parties, transitions, culminations etc. Use the time to add some quiet to the days and really connect with the magic in your life again. I have been resting. I also would love to meditate a bit this month.

One way I will show up this week:  Hmm I want to show up less tired this week. More energetic. Is it possible I wonder.

One magic I will make this week: i will be going to book club hopefully. I also will work from home one day hopefully.

This week, I will pay attention to: how I feel. I think I need some stepping back, reflection time. (i think this bears repeating.)

This week, I will be kinder to: how patient i am with myself.

This week, I will focus on pleasing: a few todo list items, i think getting them off my chest will make me feel better.

One new thing I will learn this week: how to get stuff done? 🙂

I am looking forward to: Friday when I’ll be able to hug David again!!

This week’s challenges: David being gone is in fact really tough on me. Also Tuesday I will be traveling to the city. Monday will be a long day with my going out at night if I do.

Top Goals:

  • Work: Ok let’s try this again: PM Summit schedule v1. A solid work on the site. Understanding priorities. Hi to all new team.
  • Personal: daily drawing, journal, and yoga, sleep, routine, no gluten.
  • Family:  figure out summer #2, book final camps. rest. spend time with Jake and Nathaniel.

I will focus on my values:

  • Love: Love for myself.
  • Learn: learn what’s important to get done before we head into the summer.
  • Peace: peace with how long things are taking me.
  • Service: to work. i need to get things done.
  • Gratitude: for my husband.

This week, I want to remember: i have more time than i think and less time than i think.

Weekly Intention: Starting this week, David will be gone for two weeks away for a school trip. This week looks to be a reasonably typical work week with the exception of Tuesday when we have I/O. My intention this week is to make a prioritized list for the next two weeks. Five things I want to move forward in a major way at work and five things for me or home. Let’s make a list, let’s get it done. That’s the plan. Get out of the slump.

This month’s intention is: Quiet Magic: Time to rest a little bit before things get crazy again. By the end of this month, you have graduations, parties, transitions, culminations etc. Use the time to add some quiet to the days and really connect with the magic in your life again. I like this. I think I need it. Let’s see if I can make it happen.

One way I will show up this week:  I want to try to show up more open but also more frank. Asking for what I want.

One magic I will make this week: I will be co-hosting an event for the kids’ school.

This week, I will pay attention to: how I feel. I think I need some stepping back, reflection time.

This week, I will be kinder to: my definition of magic and expectations out of myself.

This week, I will focus on pleasing: my needs.

One new thing I will learn this week: maybe a bit of reflection time will really help me uncover what’s going on.

I am looking forward to: I/O a bit and Friday a bit, too.

This week’s challenges: David being gone will be really tough on me. Also Thursday will be a really long day.

Top Goals:

Once we come back from Spring Break, life gets crazy with a trip to Orlando for Nathaniel, Los Angeles for David, Camping for Nathaniel and then Spain for David. And then summer! I can’t even think about without stressing out so I will let it be so far. This week will be busy up front and then quiet later on hopefully. My intention this week is to continue the trend of “get it done!” and either book or get pretty clear on our summer trips, finish off some of my work goals and just really, really focus on being super positive.

This month’s intention is: Making Magic: Go on adventures. Take trips with your family, make small and big bits of magic in your life. From February, on my plate is only summer vacation+camps! Everyday Magic – 14

Weekly Intention: This week has some self care, some fun bookstore time, a trip to school, a full-day meeting at work, and hopefully two work at home days. And this coming weekend promises to be a quiet weekend for the first time in a long time. So here’s my intention this week: I want to try to be super super productive at work and then I want to take a bunch of time to plan out April a bit better and then finally some solid resting time for myself, revisiting my 2019 intentions and course correcting as needed. I know that’s a lot for one week but it’s my intention after all.

This month’s intention is: Making Magic: Go on adventures. Take trips with your family, make small and big bits of magic in your life. From February, on my plate still is: spring break, Nathaniel’s birthday trip, and summer vacation. I feel I did really poorly with the March intention and clearly have dangling todos from the February one. So not doing super great here. But I’m optimistic for April since we have Spring Break, Nathaniel’s birthday trip, David’s Science Fair trip all in one month. Let’s get the magic rolling!

Everyday Magic – 11

Weekly Intention: I had a really tough experience at work last week and I am still reeling from it. My intention this week is to quiet down and go within and decide what I want to do about it. This week is hopefully mostly quiet so I will have time to center myself, calm down, and see how i’d like to proceed. In general my intention this week is to be quiet and go within.

This month’s intention is: Personal Magic:  Time to slow down again and be intentional. This month think about yourself, what you have to offer to the world, what makes you, you. What’s unique and personal. Show up as your best self. This month is not about improving but owning. From February, on my plate still is: spring break, Nathaniel’s birthday trip, summer vacation, and the taxes. Last week, more than any other, highlighted to me that this is something I really want to focus on. I don’t just want to do this, i need to.

One way I will show up this week:  i think i will reserve this week for myself. i might not be as open as usual but more looking in to understand how i’m affected by what’s going on around me.

One magic I will make this week: i might try to go to book club which i think would be magical.

This week, I will pay attention to: my feelings, my thoughts, my perspectives.

This week, I will be kinder to: myself, i really need it.

This week, I will focus on pleasing: my inner child. might sound woo woo but i don’t care.

One new thing I will learn this week: what’s triggering me?

  • Peace: peace with me, i am still struggling so much with being ok to be me.
  • Service: to me this week.

This week, I want to remember: that it’s ok to stand up for who i am and what i believe. it’s possible to listen and create dialogue without apologizing constantly.

Everyday Magic – 10

Weekly Intention: When I said last week was hectic, I was lying. This week is insane. We already had a busy weekend with a camping trip, science fair, several tech challenge meetings, but now I have a 2-day work offsite that I am running, hair appointment and a dinner guest monday night, a work dinner tuesday night, and possibly a school event on Wednesday night. Oh and possibly another event Thursday night. Just writing that makes me want to weep. Not to mention a bunch more perf this week. So my intention this week is going to have to be to surrender. To be in the moment. To be grateful for all the layers of my life. There are small moments like this when they all come to the surface at the same time but it’s rare and I enjoy the layers so much.

I really love March’s challenge. I think it will align well with what I want to do at work.

This week, I will pay attention to: how my energy is so I can decide whether to attend all the events.

One new thing I will learn this week: how can i make time to sketch even a bit daily?

I am looking forward to: finishing taxes and perf!

Top Goals:

  • Work: offsite + perf+ empty out email
