Ender’s Shadow was also for book club. (Alas, I have three different book clubs so I do a lot of book club reading.) This is another one of those novels I had meant to read for years and years and years but never did. So this book club was a perfect excuse to finally sit and read it. I thought it would be long and hard to read. And it was not at all. I read through the whole thing in a weekend. It was fun and interesting and quite enjoyable. If you’re like me and this has been on your list for a while, I recommend you pick it up. This week is about Nathaniel’s birthday – part1! so happy. Savor Project is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. This little bird was calling to me. I used stem stitch and back stitch on this one. The little word is patience. Stitching Circles is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. Life Book week twelve was taught by Traci Bautista. I love Traci’s style but it’s nothing like mine. This was another one I had to sit on for a few days. When I finally sat down to create, I decided to just have fun with it. I have mixed feelings about the final results. Another page I would have never really done on my own. But I like it too. It’s different. Vibrant. alive. The text says: You are not your thoughts. Something both David and I need to remember more often. Remember This is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. For this week, I picked opposite. Sometimes, when thinking about a situation or when faced with something I’ve dealt with many times before, what helps is thinking in a completely opposite way to what my instincts or my past behavior might suggest. I like the idea of doing something completely different and seeing what happens. That’s my intent this week. The lettering I used here comes from this pin. The image here is supposed to be two arrows pointing opposite ways. Listen with Intent is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. Nathaniel Reads to Mommy is a project for 2014 that I am doing with my 4.5-year-old son. You can read more about it here. This week’s inspiration comes from Lisa Congdon’s line drawing class again. She had a week on line drawing on photographs so I wanted to give it a try. I picked one of my old photos and added line work to the background. I then painted the background with acrylic paints. I like the darkish look. Even though you can’t see the text, it’s clear if you look in person. prompt says: today i know that my life matters I wrote about how much i care about my future, my kids, and life. Today I Know is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here. This week’s stitching also comes from urban threads. I love this little tree. I used stem stitch and back stitch on this one. The little word is enchant. Stitching Circles is a project for 2014. You can read more about it here.
The Age of Innocence was also for book club. (Alas, I have three different book clubs so I do a lot of book club reading.)
