Gratitude Journal – Week 26

Here’s this week’s gratitudes and celebrations:

I had intended to use the last two weeks’ pages while I was in Turkey but I ended up deciding otherwise and instead of coming back and retrofitting my gratitudes, I decided to just pickup where I’d left off and fill up the two pages starting from there. So this and next week, I’ll be using the pages I shared in the last two weeks.

Before:

it says: life doesn’t have to be perfect to be amazing. it is the simple things that make life wonderful.

and here’s what the page looks like with all the gratitudes and celebrations:

Just another excuse to create art and remember the present that is my life.

SixBySix – Week 28

Before this week’s art here’s the important reminder: Please remember, this is personal and hand-made and thus imperfect. If you want perfect art, do not buy mine. Also one more reminder that these are pretty small. 5.5inches by 5.5inches. That’s about 14×14 centimeters). You will just get the original piece of watercolor paper with my art and signature in the back. No mounting, no frame. I don’t want to misrepresent anything. I will put a paypal button under each (you can pay with credit card or paypal.) the button doesn’t update so you will have to click through to see if it’s sold out. I will try to update them as quickly as I can and remove the button if it’s gone, but just in case. Each piece will be $35. That’s US dollars. If you have questions please leave a comment and I will reply as fast as I can.

With that here’s this week’s art:

it reads: do not hold back. let all the love in. all of it.

A Book a Week – Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore

I read Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore just cause it looked fun and had been on my list for a while.

As it turned out it was a lovely geeky novel. It got a little contrived by the end and if you’re not into Silicon Valley, you might find it really truly ridiculous. There was a lot of Google in the book and most of it was unabashedly untrue. Way over the top. Ridiculous.

But I still enjoyed reading it. It was fun, light, sweet. And not one I’ll remember for a long time.

Your mileage might vary.

Gratitude PostCards – Week 27

A Book a Week – The Shadow of the Wind

I read The Shadow of the Wind for book club and I am so so so glad I did.

It’s a book I would have never picked up on my own and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s 100 Years of Solitude. I read it just as voraciously I read that one. This book also has a mystery in it which just adds to the layered storytelling.

I have never heard of this author before but now I know that I want to read at least one more book by him. And I also am happy to see I can get satisfaction and joy from a non-young-adult novel. And that they can be meaningful and delicious without being full of horrifying tragedies. (I mean there are very sad parts but none feel contrived to me.)

Highly recommended.

Nathaniel’s Gratitude Pages – Week 12
